Round WORLD4 TrialGP France 2021 Toni Bou, increases world championship leadership after the French GP
Repsol Honda Team rider Toni Bou came away from France having extended his lead at the head of the world championship after today’s win in the French town of Cahors. Team-mate Takahisa Fujinami finished fifth.
After the twin trials in Andorra, the single-day sixth event of the 2021 Trial World Championship took place today in Cahors, France. The course turned out to be somewhat artificial, with some sections even resembling indoor, rather than natural ones.
Even in such conditions, Repsol Honda Team rider Toni Bou claimed the top honours in an almost flawless manner, completing the two laps of the 12 French sections with only three penalty marks in the first lap, ten less than the nearest second placed rider and main rival, Adam Raga. The second lap of the Montesa Cota 4RT rider was impeccable, without so much as a single mistake. With today’s results Bou remains top of the overall TrialGP World Championship standings, 11 points off Raga with three races still to go.
Repsol Honda Team team-mate Takahisa Fujinami did not get off to the best of starts, struggling on the first lap, but on the second he was able to pull back, to eventually finish in fifth position with the same score as the fourth-placed rider, but only thirty seconds behind. With this result “Fujigas” remains fifth in the overall standings.
Next stop for the TrialGP World Championship will be in Pobladura de las Regueras, Spain, on 11th and 12th September with the double-date format.

Repsol Honda Trial Team rider Toni Bou finished the fifth round of the TrialGP World Championship in Andorra on the third step of the podium, yet retains the overall championship lead. Takahisa Fujinami replicated yesterday’s result finishing eighth. The second trial of the Andorra TrialGP turned out to be an arduous task for the Repsol Honda Team riders. Andorra, while always a gruelling event for riders, also usually makes huge demands on the bike due to the high altitude of the sections and the high temperatures. Today proved a struggle for all the competitors over the two twelve-section laps of the Sant Julià de Lòria course. It was Toni Bou’s turn to struggle in Andorra. Right off the bat, in section two, he picked up a puncture, before committing several errors which would eventually cost him the lead and rob him of a potential tenth win in Andorra. The Repsol Honda Team rider had to settle for third place in the end, but Bou keeps hold of the overall championship lead with an eight-point advantage over pursuer Adam Raga, winner of today’s trial. Takahisa Fujinami was unable to improve on the feelings and performance of yesterday and concluded the trial in eighth place. The result drops the Japanese rider down a position in the overall standings to fifth. Repsol Honda Team will get little rest this week with the forthcoming sixth trial of the 2021 TrialGP World Championship to be held next weekend in Cahors, France.

Closely-fought win for Toni Bou at Andorra TrialGP Day One Toni Bou sneaked the win by the narrowest of margins in the first of the two TrialGP World Championship trials held this weekend in Sant Julià de Lòria, Andorra. Japanese rider Takahisa Fujinami finished eighth in his 350th world championship race. The difficulty level of the twelve Andorran sections made for a closely-fought trial on the first day of competition at the Andorra TrialGP, filled with tough, highly-demanding sections. In addition, several riders were further penalised for exceeding the maximum time limits. Repsol Honda Team rider Toni Bou fought neck and neck against long-term arch-rival Adam Raga for the triumph throughout the two laps of the Andorran course. Bou and Raga constantly traded places at the head of the table, but in the end it was Toni Bou who claimed the win, in spite of finishing on 46 marks, the same number as his rival. The tie-breaking factor proved to be the total time taken in completing the route, with the Repsol Honda Team rider finishing one minute ahead. Another fine result sees Toni Bou continue to top the championship leaderboard, now holding a thirteen-point advantage in the general standings. Japan’s Takahisa Fujinami, who competed in a 350th trial at elite level competition, struggled in the Andorran trial due to the very evenly-balanced field, eventually having to settle for eighth place. “Fujigas” remains in fourth spot overall. Tomorrow, Sunday, will mark the fifth round of the World Trial Championship season and the second day of the event in the Andorran town of Sant Julià de Lòria. Riders will again face twelve sections over two laps of the same course.

TrialGP 2021 Round WORLD2 Toni Bou achieves a 120th Trial World Championship win after a superb race in France
Repsol Honda Team rider Toni Bou triumphed with a great ride at the French Charade circuit in round three of the TrialGP World Championship. Team-mate Takahisa Fujinami finished the trial in a fine fourth position.
The third round of the top-flight trial competition proved tough and technical after heavy rain both yesterday, and again this morning just prior to the TrialGP start. Riders had to contend with muddy, slippery terrain throughout both laps of the full twelve-section course. Repsol Honda Team rider Toni Bou gradually improved over the course of the trial, keeping the field in check at all times, before going on to claim the top step of the podium. With 19 marks on the first lap, Toni was already the leader, a position that he consolidated further, collecting just 5 points on lap two, to deliver a 13th victory on French soil. With this triumph, Toni Bou takes his tally of wins to 120 in trial world championship competitions and stretches his lead in the general standings of the TrialGP World Championship to a ten-point advantage over the nearest second-place rival. Team-mate, Japanese rider Takahisa Fujinami, also had a positive day and despite several mistakes, managed to pull back on the second lap to post fourth place overall. The result leaves “Fujigas” holding fourth position in the world championship general rankings. The Repsol Honda Team will now get to enjoy a summer break before tackling the fourth trial of the TrialGP World Championship in Andorra on August 20, 21 and 22. Results TrialGP France Pos. In the first TrialGP of the season held in Tolmezzo (Italy), HRC riders Toni Bou and Takahisa Fujinami claimed victories in the two men’s categories, while Laia Sanz and Emma Bristow won in the women’s category.
It was a great start to the season by GALFER riders in the 2021 TrialGP World Championship with a clean sweep of victories in the Elite categories. In the men’s category, Toni Bou (Montesa-Honda) claimed his first victory of the season despite not being 100% fit due to a recent operation. Despite this, Bou managed to achieve a lower point score than his rivals and won on the first day of competition. On the second day, Japanese Montesa-Honda rider Takahisa Fujinami was the surprise winner ahead of Toni Bou and Adam Raga. Fujinami, who is 41 years old, achieved this victory five years after his last one. Toni Bou now leads the overall TrialGP standings, 5 points ahead of Adam Raga and 8 points ahead of Takahisa Fujinami. All of them use GALFER brake components on their trial bikes.
In the women’s category, there was a great comeback by GASGAS rider Laia Sanz, who was returning to trial racing after an 8 year absence. On the first day of competition, Laia won by just one penalty over the reigning world champion, British rider Emma Bristow (Sherco). On the second day Bristow dominated and claimed the victory. Spain’s Berta Abellán (Vertigo) finished third, while Sandra Gómez was fourth, all of them GALFER riders.
The next stop of the TrialGP World Championship will be at Charade, France, on 3 July with only one day of racing.
Once again, Galfer Moto riders achieved some great results during the 2020 season, winning 25 championship titles in all, including 12 world championships.
Despite the difficult period due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the major restrictions that all motorcycling world championships have had to face, the 2020 season will also go down in Galfer history because of the amazing results it achieved in all categories.
Once again, Galfer riders have been amazingly successful, and names such as Toni Bou, Andrea Locatelli, Steve Holcombe and Emma Bristow have been crowned Elite world champions in their respective categories and have become living legends in modern motorcycling.
This means that Galfer ends the 2020 season on a happy note, celebrating an incredible 2020 track record, with 12 world, 1 European and 12 national championships, divided between Spain (6), Italy (5) and France (1) in the various categories (8 Trial championships, 6 Enduro championships, 6 Motocross championships, 4 Speed championships and 1 Flat Track championship).
Motorbike manufacturers such as Yamaha, Honda, Beta, Montesa, TM Racing, Sherco, Fantic, Vertigo and Zaeta have helped the riders to achieve their successes, with all motorbikes being fitted with GALFER brake products.
In the Road category, a special mention goes to the Supersport 600 Championship won by Andrea Locatelli (Evan Bros), who clinched an incredible 11 victories in 15 races, and the Moto3 World Team Championship won by the Leopard Racing team. We should also highlight the world championship race victories achieved by Tatsuki Suzuki (SIC58) and Jaume Masiá (Leopard Racing) in Moto3 and by Remy Gardner (SAG Team) in Moto2. All of them used the new, latest generation Galfer Racing JCW1 brake discs.
In the Off-Road category, there were double world championships for Toni Bou (Montesa-Honda) in X-Trial and TrialGP and for Steve Holcombe (Team Beta Factory Enduro) in Enduro2 and EnduroGP. Not forgetting the championships won by Brad Freeman (Team Beta Factory Enduro) in Enduro3 and by Andrea Verona (TM Racing) in Enduro1, using fixed RW “Disc Wave®” brake discs and Racing G1396R brake pads.
Toni Bou rounds off the 2020 World Championship with a sixth season victory
With six wins out of a possible eight, Toni Bou wrapped up this short, yet particular 2020 TrialGP World Championship. The Repsol Honda Team rider today took the top honours in the second Italian TrialGP held in Lazzate, Italy, with Takahisa Fujinami taking seventh overall place in the world championship. The final race of the season played out on idyllic trial terrain conditions. With the title freshly clinched yesterday, Toni Bou once again dominated the day from start to finish to snatch a sixth win of the season. Meanwhile, Japanese rider Takahisa Fujinami, was struggling to find the right sensations and ended up posting eighth position. Fujigas thus wraps up the 2020 TrialGP World Championship with seventh overall position in the final standings. This final trial in Italy brings the curtain down on this short TrialGP world competition for the Repsol Honda Team.

Toni Bou clinches earlier than expected a 28th world championship title at the Italian TrialGP
Repsol Honda Team’s Toni Bou has just been crowned world champion at the TrialGP event in Italy. The occasion marks a 14th outdoor title – adding to the previous 14 indoor titles – taking his overall top-flight championship tally to a whopping 28. Toni Bou is TrialGP world champion for a 14th time! Today in Lazzate, Italy, the Repsol Honda Team rider mathematically sealed yet another world championship title, the fourteenth of his career. Bou’s title came earlier than expected with one remaining season date still to complete tomorrow. Once again, it was a race dominated by Bou, whose results this season now include five wins, a second and third place. These results – together with those of his greatest rival – guarantee the title, with the champion adding even more silverware to an already packed trophy cabinet. The season began with a battle against the pandemic, which had forced a major overhaul of the scheduled championship calendar and limited the amount of pre-season training that Repsol Honda Team riders were able to do. Things worsened with an arm injury picked up in the opening round of the world championship. Yet, in spite of everything, Toni Bou faced and was able to overcome these adversities, going on to clinch the championship title in Italy. Adding to the other 14 titles from the ‘indoor’ discipline, Toni now sports no less than 28 world titles since the unstoppable reign began back in 2007. Bou, aboard the Montesa Cota 4RT, reaffirmed the supremacy that has seen Repsol Honda Team dominate in trial competitions over the last fourteen years. Meanwhile, Bou’s Repsol Honda Team squad-mate, Japanese rider Takahisa Fujinami, rode a fine trial to post a well-deserved fourth place. Fujigas is now fifth in the 2020 TrialGP overall standings with one event still to go. Repsol Honda Team will tomorrow face the final trial of this unusual 2020 World Championship in the same venue in the La Battú trial area.

TrialGP 2020 Round WORLD3 Bou claims victory in Andorra, the fourth of the season
Repsol Honda Team Trial rider Toni Bou took the triumph in the sixth round of the world championship and re-establishes a ten-point lead at the head of the competition standings. Takahisa Fujinami made headway and finished fourth. Trial two of the Andorra TrialGP did not turn out to be such a wash-out as yesterday’s event, but the terrain was, nevertheless, slippery and muddy, especially over the course of the ten-section first lap around the Sant Julià de Lòria route. A more aggressive and confident Toni Bou produced a high-level showing on the day, particularly in the sections likely to elicit most mistakes and went on to finish the trial with a twenty-point margin over his main rival, Adam Raga. The Repsol Honda Team rider takes the season victory tally to four and now holds a ten-point advantage over his pursuer with one GP – made up of two trials – still to run before the world championship season wraps up. Elsewhere, Takahisa Fujinami took a leap forward compared to the performances in recent trials and rode a fine race on the day. The Japanese Repsol Honda Team rider completed a zero to hero trial, turning out a fine final lap to join the battle for podium places. ‘Fujigas’ ended up posting a notable fourth place and jumps to sixth place in the general standings. After three consecutive events, there will now be a well-deserved fortnight’s rest before the end of this atypical TrialGP World Championship. The forthcoming final round of the world championship is scheduled for the weekend of October 9-11 in Lazzate, Italy.
