TrialGP 2020 Round WORLD3
Second place for Toni Bou in a tight Andorran GP

Toni Bou finished second in the first of the twin TrialGP World Championship trials held this weekend in Sant Julià de Lòria, Andorra. Japanese rider Takahisa Fujinami posted seventh.
The first day of competition at the TrialGP Andorra was a seriously tough affair. Rain made an appearance in the morning leaving the terrain extremely slippery and arduous for all the riders. In addition, the officials were fairly severe in their application of the non-stop rule, resulting in a very closely-fought trial.
Repsol Honda Team rider Toni Bou battled neck and neck for the win against eternal rival Adam Raga throughout the three-lap Andorran course. Bou led the day until halfway through the final lap where he picked up several points, eventually having to settle for second spot on the podium. Despite the result, Toni Bou continues to lead the championship, now with a seven-point lead in the overall standings.
Japan’s Takahisa Fujinami suffered today, particularly over the opening lap, where he made an excess of errors, but managed to reduce the number over the second and third laps and eventually went on to post seventh.
Tomorrow, Sunday, sees the sixth round of the Trial World Championship season and the second day of trials to take place in the same Andorran town of Sant Julià de Lòria.

Toni Bou double win at the Spanish GP, lengthening the gap at the top of the TrialGP World Championship

Repsol Honda Team rider Toni Bou once again claimed the top honours on day two of the trial in Pobladura de las Regueras, León, taking his season victory tally to three. Bou increases his lead in the overall standings to a ten-point advantage.
Differing from yesterday’s trial, the route for the second day of the Spanish TrialGP proved to be much tougher with certain sections virtually impossible to overcome. As a consequence, the trial produced a fairly even result in the final table. Toni Bou suffered throughout the day’s trial in Pobladura de las Regueras.
The demanding sections, coupled with the physical issues in the rider’s arms, saw Toni move up and down positions over the first lap, but by the second and third he was able to take command of the trial to eventually claim a third victory of the season. The result allows the current champion to stretch the gap at the top of the championship general standings where the trial star now holds a ten-point advantage over the nearest second place rival.
Japanese rider Takahisa Fujinami also had a rough time today in such a closely-fought competition. “Fujigas” was able to improve on the third lap of the course, but by then a podium place had already escaped him. At the end of the day the rider had to settle for ninth position. Fujinami currently lies in eighth overall position in the championship table, although just four points away from fourth overall position.
The next Trial World Championship event will be held next week in the town of Sant Julià de Lória, in Andorra.

TrialGP 2020 Round WORLD2
Second victory of the season for Toni Bou, the 16th at the Spanish GP

Repsol Honda Team rider Toni Bou claimed the top honours with a fine ride in Pobladura de las Regueras, León, the third round of the TrialGP World Championship. Team-mate Takahisa Fujinami finished the trial in eighth position.
The third round of the elite trial competition proved to be a tough course, not least due to the official observers who were often overly-strict in scoring the ten sections which riders had to complete over the three laps.
Repsol Honda Team rider Toni Bou, rode a rags-to-riches trial, starting poorly, later dominating and finally finishing to be crowned winner atop the podium. Toni did not get off to the best of starts, picking up seventeen marks on the first lap, but was able to bounce back with eight points on lap two and just three on the third. Bou continues to head the general TrialGP World Championship standings, now holding four points more than the nearest second-placed rival.
Japanese Takahisa Fujinami did not have the best of days and was unable to find the right sensations needed to keep a good pace and eventually had to settle for eighth position. The result puts ‘Fujigas’ into seventh overall place in the world championship table.
With no time for a break, the Repsol Honda Team will be back tomorrow to tackle the fourth round of the world championship at the same location in the Bierzo region.

TrialGP 2020 Round WORLD1
Toni Bou, leader of the World Championship after the French GP

Repsol Honda Team rider Toni Bou comes away from France as leader of the World Championship after yesterday’s victory and a third place on Sunday. Team-mate Takahisa Fujinami replicated yesterday’s position to finish sixth.
After a fairly straight-forward World Championship curtain-raiser yesterday, today’s second trial, featuring some modified sections, saw Toni Bou suffer throughout the event. The current world champion experienced back pains which caused cramp in the rider’s right arm.
The Repsol Honda Team rider battled hard over the three-lap Isola 2000 course in France, which brought out the best of champion, who was, in the end, able to salvage a result out of a tough day to finish on the third step of the podium. The weekend results mean that Toni is the TrialGP World Championship leader.
Repsol Honda Team brother-in-arms Takahisa Fujinami did not get off to the best of starts and, likewise, was having a tough time on the opening lap. On lap two the rider was able to pull back considerably, but ended up paying heavily for the errors on the third and final lap with several successive fiascos that led to an eventual sixth final place, the same position that he now holds in the overall standings.
Next stop for the TrialGP World Championship will be in Pobladura de las Regueras, Spain, on September 12 and 13 with another two-day trial.

Toni Bou gets the TrialGP World Championship underway at the top

Repsol Honda Team rider Toni Bou is the opening leader of the 2020 TrialGP World Championship after claiming a fine victory at France’s Isola 2000. Bou’s team-mate Takahisa Fujinami finished the first trial in sixth spot.

In the opening of the FIM TrialGP World Championship event, an error in the official timing of several sections led the race organization to make the decision to cancel the first of the three laps. Thus, all scores were based on the times from the second and third laps.

Toni Bou produced a near-perfect trial, scoring a single penalty mark on the second lap and picking up just three on the third. The Repsol Honda Team rider was also penalized with 2 points for running short of time. The total tally of six points meant Toni Bou was the rider accruing the least number of points at the end of the first day of competition in France.

Bou’s team-mate, Japanese rider Takahisa Fujinami, made several errors in sections five and nine which ruled out any chances of a podium place, but the rider dug deep to salvage something from the season opener, posting a notable sixth final position.

This season all trials will be two-day events, meaning that tomorrow the same Isola 2000 will hold the second day of competition in the 2020 TrialGP World Championship.

Kein Guter Tag für Henry Jacobi

Very positive Dutch GP for Team SM Action Yamaha in Valkenswaard, during the second GP of the season.
Superlative races for Maxime Renaux in MX2 and Andrea Adamo in EMX 250, the duo conquered the podium in their respective classes.

In Race-1 after a sensational start Renaux is in the top three. The French, thanks to his race pace, finishes the moto with an excellent 3rd place. In Race-2, Maxime repeats his performance taking the 3rd position immediately. At the finish, Renaux conquers another very important 3rd place which is worth the 2nd step of the podium. In the overall Championship classification , the Yamaha SM Action Team riders gains seven positions and is now 4th.

Weekend to forget for Henry Jacobi in the MXGP top class. After the good performance of the week earlier in England, in Race-1 the German during the first lap came in contact with another rider while dueling in the top 10 and crashed. Then, trying to regain positions, a second crash forced him to retire. In Race-2, something similar to the first fraction happened. After a good start in the top 20, Henry was forced to another DNF.

Guter GP-Auftakt für Henri Jacobi

The last first of March the MX World Championship season started in Batterley Basin, Great Britain.
Henry Jacobi's world debut in the premier MXGP class was very good. The German made himself in the top-10 position twice thanks to good starts and two solid motos. In Race 1 Henry rode safe around the 9th/10th position and at the end of the thirteen laps he crossed the finish line 10th.
In the second moto the SM Action Yamaha #29 rider cuts the white line at the exit of the first turn in front, conquering a fantastic holeshot. After few initial laps in 6th position, Jacobi completes the race in 9th place. At the end of the day, the overall classification credits him with a well earned 9th place.

Toni Bou clinches the fifth victory of the X-Trial season in Bilbao
The Repsol Honda Team rider Toni Bou has achieved, in Bilbao, the victory in the fifth round of the FIM X-Trial World Championship. After this fifth win in a row this season, Bou increases his leadership in the series.
This is the second occasion that Bilbao hosts a race of the FIM X-Trial World Championship and the public of the Bilbao Exhibition Center have seen Toni Bou with a hesitant start in which he has marked 8 penalties, 4 more than his arch-rival Adam Raga. Even so, he has been successfully qualified for the second phase.
The Repsol Honda Team rider has made the second round with a better precision, making 12 points in the 5 zones with a high technical level. With this result, and being the best of his group, Bou has been able to go to the final where he has seen the faces again with Adam Raga. A great final that has been very tight, but Toni Bou has won the victory by being more precise through very demanding areas. The Montesa Cota 4RT rider has finished with 9 penalties against the 12 of Raga.
With this triumph, the Repsol Honda Team rider is the leader of the World Championship, with 35-point advantage.
For the sixth race of the X-Trial World Championship, where Toni Bou will arrive with the possibility of winning a new world title, we will have to wait more than a month, since it will be held on March 21 at Wiener Neustadt, in Austria.

No unlucky 13 as Toni Bou makes it 4 out of 4 in the X-Trial World Championship in Barcelona.
The fourth round of the 2020 X-Trial World Championship, held this evening in Palau Sant Jordi, saw Toni Bou claim a fourth consecutive win this season and a thirteenth indoor triumph in Barcelona.
Repsol Honda Team’s Toni Bou, seeking redemption after having failed to clinch top honours in last year’s Palau Sant Jordi event, scooped a superb victory in one of the most spectacular finals to date.
The evening’s action got underway with the preliminary qualifying round with riders tackling a total of six sections. Bou notched up a total of 9 penalty marks, two more than arch-rival Adam Raga. With the winners of each of the qualifying heats moving into the next round, the Repsol Honda Team swapped bikes and looked visibly more at ease. The rider then cruised into the Grand Final, accruing just six penalty marks on the way.
In the final, the Repsol Honda Team champ, encouraged throughout by the Barcelona spectators, proved that he is undoubtedly on the hottest form in the indoor discipline. Bou overcame his toughest adversary Adam Raga in the very last Montesa section of the Barcelona indoor trial event, to deliver victory number 13 to the Palau Sant Jordi crowd, for a 66th X-Trial World Championship win.
The result extends the Repsol Honda Team ace’s lead in the overall standings further to a 20-point advantage, with three trials still to run before the indoor season wraps up. The next outing will be held in Bilbao’s Bizkaia Arena on 15th February.
